Much to the dismay of traditionalists in the world of watches, the introduction of digital watches has literally changed the face of time. From the beginning of the mechanical design, analog watch faces have movements with both hands, indicating the hour and the other showing minutes. Finally, a sweep of the hand was added to indicate the seconds pass.This configuration remains the norm for hundreds of years and is still the dominant feature of watches today. The electronic revolution has swept the consumer market in the sixties, seventies and nineteen was not lost on the way watches and other pieces have been designed. There were two innovations in particular have helped to propel a new look and function in the watch market.
