Celiac Disease Awareness Month in May is one month and what can be more suited to the knowledge of readers about the mess! Coeliac disease or celiac disease is an immune reaction to gluten, a mixture of proteins found in wheat grains which are insoluble in water, forming an elastic texture of wheat dough. The disease has caused harm to the small intestine when a person eats something with gluten, their immune system is not responding. Sorry I’m late to the party long months here. I struggled with a cold and I think I finally got my brains back. I think it runs on low power mode Blonde, so please bear with me.

In June 2004, the National Institutes of Health Consensus Panel on Celiac disease concluded that there was a strong need to sensitize and educate professionals and the public about celiac disease. Now – in 2010, nearly six years after the NIH in June 2004 recommended – large groups, including the Celiac Foundation, and the concerned citizens, are still lobbying Congress for the month of May be officially nominated as the Celiac Disease Awareness Month”.

Despite the fact that Congress has not yet taken action on a bill that officially designates May as Celiac Awareness Month (which include increased funding for research on celiac disease), PureFi is pleased to participate in public awareness efforts about the disease to increase.
